Morning! ๐ โ๏ธ
The screen is blank today. That is the test, and if you have said it out loud all week, you are ready. But first, the reason we spent five days here. ๋์น is not just one nice word.
It is a lens Koreans use to see the whole world, and once you have it, you understand a lot of Korea that no textbook explains. Let's close the week with why this line matters.
In today's emailโฆ

๐ฑ Day 5: everything is gone. Cold recall, no looking.

๐ ๊ฐ์ด looks like "gat-i" but sounds like "ga-chi." One last sound change.

Today's trap: ๊ฐ์ด sounds like "๊ฐ์น." Here is a sound change learners love once they hear it. ๊ฐ์ด is written ๊ฐ + ์ด, which looks like "gat-i."
But the ใ at the bottom of ๊ฐ meets the ์ด and turns into a ใ sound. So it comes out "ga-chi." Ten-second fix: whenever a ใท or ใ ๋ฐ์นจ bumps into ์ด, it softens to a "ji" or "chi" sound. ๊ฐ์ด = "๊ฐ์น." Say it that way and you sound native.
๐ SAY IT BACK
Sunhee is awake right now.
Today: cold recall. No looking. Close your eyes, take a breath, and say all three lines from memory. Whatever comes out, say it to Sunhee.
Then, and only then, scroll to the answer key and check yourself. This is the day the week pays off.
Part of every morning.
๐๏ธ WORD SPOTLIGHT
The last blocks are gone, so here are the two that held on longest, plus the shape that joins the end.
๋์น (nunchi), your anchor all week, and for good reason. It was the last noun to fade because everything else in the line hangs off it. Hold this one word and the whole passage comes back.
