Morning! 😃 ☕️
A proverb sits above the politeness rules. 티끌 모아 태산 stays the same whether you say it to your little brother or your boss. But the sentence you wrap around it? That is where the respect lives, and that is where you can slip.
Today the polite endings vanish first. The little 요 at the end of each sentence. Those are the parts learners drop when they get nervous, so those are the parts you recall first.

조금씩이라도 매일 하면 돼요. 티끌 모아 태산이라잖아요. 너무 조급해하지 마세요.

조금씩이라도 매일 하면 돼___. 티끌 모아 태산이라잖아___. 너무 조급해하지 마세___.
jogeumssik-irado maeil hamyeon dwae___. tikkeul moa taesan-irajanha___. neomu jogeuphaehaji mase___.
English: Even just a little every day is enough. They say dust piles up into a mountain, you know. Don't be in such a hurry.
Answer key at the bottom.
🌶️ HEAR IT
Today's trap: The ㄹ in 티끌 (tikkeul) and 라 is not an English R and not an English L. It is a light tap, the tongue touching the roof of the mouth once, like the middle of "butter" when Americans say it fast.
Say 끌 without curling your tongue back. Just a quick tap. Do it three times right now: 끌, 끌, 끌.
🎙 SAY IT BACK
Sunhee is awake right now.
Today: say two lines back. The first line and the proverb line. Say them to her, out loud, one after the other.
Part of every morning.
🔍️ WORD SPOTLIGHT
돼요 (dwaeyo), the base is 되다 (doeda, to become, to be okay). 돼요 here means "it works" or "that is fine." Drop the 요 and you get 돼, which is what you say to a close friend.
