Today's trap: 굶지 (gumji) has a tricky batchim, ㄻ, two consonants stacked under one syllable. Most learners want to pronounce both. Don't. Only the ㅁ sound survives before 지. Say "gum," like the candy, then add "ji." Gum-ji. That's the whole word, done.

🔍️ WORD SPOTLIGHT
밥 (bap), you met this Monday. Today it's worth sitting with one more time: this word carries "meal" and, underneath that, "being cared for." A whole culture's worth of checking on each other lives inside one syllable.
먹었어요 / 먹어요 (meogeosseoyo / meogeoyo), the past and present-command shapes of 먹다, "to eat." You now know this verb in three forms across this one phrase, that's three real, working pieces of Korean you didn't have a week ago.
☕️ CULTURAL MOMENT
You made it to Friday. Five days ago this line was full. Today it was empty, and you pulled it back from memory. That is real. Hold onto it.
